Vineyard Notes: These grapes come from a single vineyard in north-west Gualtallary, at an altitude of 1,350 meters above sea-level. This is a micro-zone made up of alluvial soils with a large amount of calcium carbonate.
Winemaking Notes: Grapes are harvested by hand. This unique wine is completely fermented and aged in a large concrete egg and sees no oak. The shape of the eggs helps to keep the liquid constantly in movement, improving temperature control and achieving greater character and volume in the mouth, due to the fact that the lees always remain in suspension. Fermentation is natural using indigenous yeast.
Tasting Notes: This subtle and nuanced wine shows soft, plush tannins with raspberry, ripe black currant and an underlying chalky finish. Fresh wet soil, hazel nuts, figs, and savory spice dominate this barnyard and earth-driven wine. Eggo Franco showcases the perfect combination of a chalky, terroir-driven wine, with vibrant fruit and a long smooth finish.
